FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT AND PEACE
Father,
Grant that all those who hold positions of power and governing of others may see that the way of Christ must be the foundation of their work. Give them to see that they must exercise their power and authority for the good of all, not from selfish and unworthy motives. Keep us from the death and destruction which inevitably accompany war and conflict. May differences of race and religion and political allegiances be reconciled by tolerance and fairness, so that all people may live in prosperity and peace.

There are conflicts all around the world. No day has gone by for many years without armed conflict taking place somewhere in the world. Many of these conflicts come close to home. Even in Europe we have seen brutal wars in recent times in the former Yugoslavia and now in Ukraine.
War in Israel and Gaza now holds our attention.
Please pray for peace in the world. Remember in your prayers to look beyond Europe and the Middle East, to Africa and South America. Pray for good, fair and honest government.
